Spam, known phishing and malware are stopped before they reach anyone's inbox.

Links are checked at the moment someone clicks, so a page that turned malicious after delivery is still blocked.
Sandbox attachments
Attachments are opened in a safe environment first, to catch malware that ordinary scanning misses.
Tune
If good mail is blocked or junk gets through, tell the helpdesk and we adjust the policy.

Common questions
Isn't Microsoft 365's built-in filtering enough?+
It's a good start, but Safe Links, Safe Attachments and stronger phishing protection come with Defender for Office 365 Plan 1 and need configuring. Business Premium includes it. We set it up and maintain it.
Will we lose genuine emails?+
Suspicious mail goes to quarantine rather than disappearing, so it can be checked and released if it turns out to be genuine.
Does filtering cover shared mailboxes?+
Yes. Filtering applies to every mailbox in your Microsoft 365, including shared mailboxes.
Can staff report suspicious emails?+
Yes. Staff can use the Report button in Outlook, and anyone worried about an email can send it to the helpdesk for us to check.
How is this different from advanced email security?+
This is the standard protection on every plan. Advanced email security on Complete and Secure+ adds impersonation protection for your key people and domains, aimed at fake-invoice fraud.
